Sony has revealed they have released firmware v1.61 for the Playstation 4.

The update is mandatory, but does not really have anything new to add. Instead, it is meant to bolster the system’s overall stability.
Many Playstation 4 owners are still struggling with multiple stability issues. While the frequency is not as high as feared, those who did get defective consoles have often been told to turn their units in.
Of course, Sony is on top of providing frequent updates, but even now gamers are complaining of updating to v1.61 and still having problems. It does not seem likely that the end is in sight for these problems soon, but longtime Playstation fans may consider this to simply be déjà vu, since as far back as the PSP.
