New Xbox Series X July Stream Will Unveil First-Party Games

July 6, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Mark your calendars for July 23, 2020.

2020 was going to be a big year for gamers. We knew that both Microsoft and Sony were planning to unveil and release their next-generation video game console platforms. Now that we know what both consoles will look like and some of the power behind each platform, we’re getting more stream unveils that will showcase a different aspect of the system or the upcoming video game titles slated to launch for the system. Now we know that later this month we are going to get a new Xbox Games Showcase which will highlight the first-party video game titles.

In the past Xbox Series X reveals, we got a look at very few first-party games, as most of the content was the third-party titles that were coming to multiple platforms. Today it looks like Microsoft is going to reveal their first-party games lineup on July 23, 2020, at 9 AM PT. This will give you a look at some of the Microsoft exclusive titles that you will only be able to enjoy on either the Xbox One or Xbox Series X. In case you didn’t catch the news prior, Microsoft has unveiled that the first-party video game titles coming from their studios for the first few years would be cross-generational platform releases. This means that if you haven’t jumped onto the Xbox Series X when these games launch, then you’ll still have the ability to play an Xbox One version.

Likewise, it’s worth pointing out that with the Smart Delivery feature, if you purchase an Xbox One version of the game, you will have the ability to enjoy the game on Xbox Series X as well. We’re sure that this stream will also highlight that feature in some capacity, but we’re also eager to see just what new games will be revealed. This could be the first major competitive move to help sway consumers to Microsoft over Sony.
