Sony has announced Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 for PS4 ahead of the release of system update 1.60 tomorrow which will enable compatibility with Pulse headsets, including the limited Grand Theft Auto 5 version and the original Wireless Stereo Headset on the console.
The new headset will be available from February 10th for £80, $100 or €90 depending on where you are in the world and Sony says:
"This new wireless headset for PS4 features stunning 7.1 virtual surround sound, as well as a crystal clear, noise-cancelling internal microphone for chatting to friends on Party, when playing online multiplayer."
Up to eight hours battery life is promised from the headset which will utilise the USB wireless adaptor on your PS4, PS3, PC or Mac.
A free Headset Companion App is also being developed which will allow users to access custom sound modes for games, movies, and music. The app will be available on both PS3 and PS4. The first sound mode being created for the app is from Sucker Punch for their hotly anticipated inFamous: Second Son.
