Resident Evil has had quite a resurgence in popularity. After the release of Resident Evil 7 that saw the mainline franchise take a turn back to a true survival horror experience, Capcom continued on with the trend by bringing out a remake to the much-beloved Resident Evil 2. It wasn’t long after that we got the announcement of a Resident Evil 3 Remake as well, and just like any remake, there are bound to be a few changes.
When it comes to the remake for Resident Evil 3, there were quite a few on the fence over the new look of Jill Valentine. The original version of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 3 showcased some clothing that may not have really fit the game today. It’s not that the development studio is ashamed of the visuals that they first designed Jill Valentine, but when it comes down to it, the studio wanted to bring out the best version of Jill Valentine that fits this remake style.
Resident Evil 3 will follow a similar visual style as Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7. Capcom is aiming to provide a more photorealism design, and it’s caused the studio to make some adjustments to Jill. This bit of news comes from Capcom producer Peter Fabiano who spoke about the new design with Edge Magazine. According to Peter Fabiano, the development studio simply wanted something that fit in the design of the game, but you’ll still find that Jill Valentine will still have the same personality and essence that makes her stand out.
Resident Evil 3 is already quite the hyped-up game, as it stands right now, Capcom will be bringing out Resident Evil 3 on April 3, 202, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. What do you think of the newly designed Jill Valentine?
