DICE has shared more details on the upcoming PC update for Battlefield 4, and this one is mostly about the bugs.
For one, they acknowledge the blur effect that seems to come up when you go into commander mode and there is already a prior commander. They also bring up the sound bug on the Golmud Railway map.
Finally, they have definitely taken notice of the one hit bug that’s been affecting players, and was featured by popular YouTuber JackFrags in a recent video. DICE explains that the bug is potentially more complex than it looks on the surface. What they are doing now is trying to replicate the bug on their end so that they can uncover and figure out how to fix it.
As JackFrags demonstrated, the bug is causing one shot kills, making guns output more damage than they are expected to, and it is ruining the game. You may have thought players would prefer to have their guns output more damage in general, but the problem arises because the game is not acting as it is expected to. In competitive multiplayer, this creates a similar situation as when cheaters come in and manage to get themselves in the top scores. It compromises that aspect of the game and wastes the hard work of people who actually study the game to get better at it.
DICE has no set timeframe, and clarified that these are not the only bugs they are testing. Fans will simply have to be patient if the next fix will take care of the one shot kills bug, since it looks like DICE is anticipating a lot of work on this one.
