We have a few good tips on how to raise money in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag outside of playing the main missions. This assumes you are 1/4ths into the game, have the dive tank and a well-upgraded Jackdaw.
- Assassination contracts are an easy way to make a grand or so once you get the blowpipe.
- Seek out the Royal convoys, as they are worth at least 10,000 reales. Pay the 200 reales entrance fee to get into a pub and ask bartenders where they are, and they’ll put them on your map. Also, make sure to ask your friends who are also playing the game.
- You will also want to be on the lookout for ships loaded with Sugar and Rum. When you board them, make sure to take the sugar and sell it.
- This is slow to earn, but make sure to open chests in every location you visit, Zelda style. They average 100 – 300 reales each chest, but over time you can make what you need.
- Lastly, you can take full advantage of your fleet, but this one is a strategy we cannot all afford to try. Basically, you work way up from the easy, five minute missions, to the longer ones, that last eight hours and above. The hardest missions have timers that last between 8 to 24 hours for you to finish them. The timer counts time you spent playing, as well as time with the game off. The payoff for finishing these missions is worth it, but I understand not everyone has the time. So, try these only if you can.
- Overall, however, once your Jackdaw is fully upgraded, you will not have to worry about anything else.
