In a Kotaku article on Sony Japan Studio's preperation for the PlayStation 4 the developer's head Allan Becker was asked about that most elusive of Sony titles, The Last Guardian.
He said the game is "moving along in the right direction" which isn't a whole lot to go on but then, there never really has been about the game Fumito Ueda – who is now working on the game on a contract basis – first revealed in 2009.
Becker added that he sometimes argues with Ueda about what path the game should take but he thinks the disagreements will be worth it when the final product is realised.
"We're real-time in that process. And we don't necessarily agree with each other—Fumito Ueda and I—about process. In some sense, I sort of… implemented change, which, I think, is causing some concern and consternation. But, once again, I think the benefit will come through. We're still going through that phase of adjustment and finding the right balance and groove."
The Last Guardian was intended as a PS3 title but if the game does resurface it will likely be as a PS4 game. Of course, if these delays keep up it could well debut on PS5.
