Those looking to pick up the Xbox One on Nov. 22 will have quite a few software options. Big exclusives like Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 will do their best to showcase what big, violent blockbusters can look like on next-generation hardware, but physics-based puzzler, Peggle 2, will be absent from the lineup.
Developer PopCap confirmed the delay to GamesBeat. The downloadable title is now hoping to hit the ever-expanding launch window, which likely means sometime in December.
“Peggle 2 is a ‘launch timeframe’ title,” PopCap senior director of PR Garth Chouteau said. “But [it] will not launch day-and-date with the Xbox One — instead, it will become available a few weeks later in December.”
That means that it’ll be bouncing across Xbox One consoles before Christmas, but that might not be good enough for those who were promised Peggle 2 for late November. PopCap claims that it might have mischaracterized the timeframe of the title, which Microsoft and the rest of the gaming world believed would be out sooner.
Peggle 2 isn’t the only Xbox One exclusive coming from PopCap. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will also be coming to Microsoft’s next-generation platform in the near future, so early adopters can expect plenty of zaniness from the team during this launch window.
