Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Opens Weapon Finishes Workshop

October 25, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update lets players create their own weapon skins.

As an acknowledgment of the infinitely creative Counter-Strike community, Valve opens the Steam Workshop to players who want to create their own weapon skins in Global Offensive.

Similarly to the DOTA 2 item workshop, the highest rated skins may find their way into the arsenal of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive skins.

If players want to create their own weapons skins, Valve built some useful tools to help players properly generate finishes. When players use the Workshop Workbench, players can both view and edit their creations to see how they reflect on weapons in the game client.

In an extensive index of web pages, Valve put together information about patterns, solid colors and masking. These web pages provide the details on what content creators must know for a finished, quality weapon skin.

If you cannot hone your artistic talent, players can head over to the Steam Workshop to vote on their favorite designs.

A recent Counter-Strike update introduced cosmetic items drops either earned in game or purchased separately.
