It’s been a minute since we got a Fight Night video game title and for someone like myself who thoroughly enjoyed the series, it’s a real shame. Then we got a spark of hope when professional boxer, Claressa Shields stated that a new game was in the works and that she would be featured within it. Unfortunately, the statement has been redacted after Claressa went back online to clarify that the game is not Fight Night Round 5. While the American professional female boxer stated that it was Fight Night, she either dropped the news too soon before EA was ready for an official announcement or honestly got the information wrong.
Either way, a new boxing game is something that plenty of gamers have been waiting for and there is at least some video game title coming out for the PlayStation 4 featuring Claressa Shields. EA didn’t reveal anything in terms of a boxing game during E3 2019 but that, of course, doesn’t mean that a new entry is being developed. The last installment was Fight Night Champion which released back in 2011 though that could be due to the fact that the MMA EA sports UFC series is doing well enough to not warrant a boxing title.
At any rate, while a new Fight Night video game may not be in production at the moment, we’re interested in hearing more about this new video game title being put out with the new up-and-comer along with other current big fighters to past legendary athletes. Perhaps this will be a game that will be highlighted during Gamescom 2019 which takes place later today. If that is the case we’ll update you with new information as we receive it.
