CD Projekt Red may come up a ton lately in your favorite video game publications and magazines. It’s for good reason, their upcoming video game release, Cyberpunk 2077 is immensely anticipated by gamers all over the world. However, some fans are still enjoying The Witcher series and today we’re learning about The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project which ups the ante for the visuals in The Witcher 3. If you ever had the desire to go back and replay the beloved open-world RPG title and conclusion to The Witcher trilogy then this mod may be well worth looking into.
The Witcher 3 released back in 2015 for this generation platforms and while it’s not old by any means, the visuals just got an update. A fan group decided to go in and rework the textures to not only improve the game visually but also keep the same art style that the developers intended for the game. You can see how different the mods make the game look visually in the video posted above. Now, this is only for the PC version of the game and according to the official mod description, it shouldn’t take too much of a hit on performance.
Currently, this mod will require a minimum of 3GB VRAM though it’s recommended to have 4GB. Even if you’re system can run The Witcher 3 normally, you may expect a drop of potentially five frames total unless you’re running a GTX 970 or a GPU equivalent. To get the mod and understand how to properly install it we suggest heading over to the official Nexus Mods page. In other news, The Witcher Netflix adaptation is currently in production with a trailer potentially dropping during this year’s SDCC 2019.
