Dontnod Entertainment has been best known lately for their Life is Strange video game success. Shortly after the video game released into the market, the development team opted to make a third-person title known as Vampyr which didn’t hit the strides that they had likely hoped for. Instead of going into a different direction with their upcoming release, Dontnod Entertainment is opting to work on another episodic adventure. The game is called Twin Mirror and it was supposed to release this year. Unfortunately, if you were waiting for this game to release then you’ll have to prepare to hold off a bit longer.
In a press release that went out from the development team, it appears that the upcoming Twin Mirror video game was pushed back further. There wasn’t a particular detailed explanation as to why the developers are holding the game back, but we did get news that with the help of Epic Games, Dontnod Entertainment was able to secure the properties to the title allowing them to co-produce the title with Bandai Namco.
As for the game narrative, so far what we know is that Twin Mirror is an upcoming psychological thriller which follows a protagonist named Sam who returns back to his old hometown to attend a funeral service of his best friend. Things take a turn for the worse when he awakens with no memories of the previous day while covered in blood. If you’re familiar with Dontnod Entertainment’s work then you know that they tend to deliver a more narrative and emotional approach to their video games. As such we expect the very same treatment with Twin Mirror when it does release at some point next year. Speaking of the partnership with Epic Games, you can count on Twin Mirror being an Epic Game Store exclusive as well.
