The digital sales of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn were halted shortly after the game's release in order to allow the game to cope with its busy launch, which saw full servers and a myriad of issues preventing customers from being able to play the game seamlessly. Citing overwhelming demand, the game's sales were temporarily suspended.
Today, Square Enix has announced that it has re-enabled digital sales of the game as the publisher has managed to resolve most, if not all of the problems that affected the game during its troubled launch.
"Due to unprecedented demand to access the game at launch digital sales were suspended on 28 August," it explains in a statement.
"The company has performed extensive server maintenance, increasing the number of servers for players worldwide, the capacity of players per World and the number of concurrent players. Following this maintenance access to the game is now functioning as originally intended.
"The company would like to thank all the existing players and welcome those that were waiting to join the adventure."
