E3 is just around the corner and more information, leaks, and speculation are rising online about what we can expect from the show. One of the more anticipated video game titles is Cyberpunk 2077, a brand new IP from CD Projekt Red after coming off their franchise, The Witcher. However, as time goes on, more gamers are chiming in on what they would like to see from the title. One of the big questions and hopes from the gaming community when it comes to this game is mod support. We’ve seen plenty of great video game titles release and offer support for gamers to add components to the game and tweak the mechanics through the help of modifications made by groups online. There are even some mods that help keep the video game title relevant and fresh years after its release.
So when the question started to pop up on the CD Projekt Red forum, it was finally answered by a community manager by the name of Marcin Momot. Apparently, the development team would love to support the modding community but they don’t have anything official to share at the moment. According to the official, the development team is hard at work and looking to release the video game title first.
While this may not be the answer some gamers were looking for, it does provide some good hope that mod support will be there within the game. If it doesn’t launch initially, it appears that CD Projekt Red may make an effort to support the community after launch. Regardless, as it stands right now, we don’t know just when Cyberpunk 2077 will even hit the marketplace. E3 2019 is around the corner and perhaps this is one piece of information will receive during the big expo. After all, it was already revealed that select media members will get a look at an hour long presentation of the video game behind closed doors.
