We expect a yearly Call of Duty video game release and we know that the 2019 video game will have a reveal at some point during E3 2019. However, just what that video game will be about or what series it’s attached to has been unknown. Fortunately, leaks and reports have since come out online that suggests what the next Call of Duty video game will feature and today after a number of reports leaking online, it appears that the upcoming installment will be titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. While we have seen reports in the past that this game will be based within the Modern Warfare series, it appears that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is going to be a soft reboot.
Again, details are still scarce and we have to label these reports as rumors until the official announcement is made. So take this information as a grain of salt but it does appear that we’re going to get a soft reboot of the Modern Warfare series. According to a report made on Kotaku, it seems that the developers behind the 2019 installment release, Infinity Ward, is going to focus on big moments throughout the narrative.
The main example being used online right now is the mission No Russian, which was present in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This mission was highly controversial as it allowed players to take part in gunning down innocent civilians at an airport. Now the mission itself could be completed without firing a single shot at the innocent bystanders but its apparently big emotional moments like that one which Infinity Ward is hoping to present in the upcoming 2019 installment.
