Mario Kart Tour is an anticipated video game title for the smartphone market. Nintendo has been releasing new video games into the market from beloved IPs and the latest upcoming release is Mario Kart Tour. The video game application doesn’t have a release date attached just yet but those who were lucky enough to get into the private closed beta are starting to give information about the game to the public. Currently, the private beta is going on right now and it’s giving the developers time to look at how the game is handling and receive crucial feedback before they finally launch it into the market.
We knew that Mario Kart Tour was going to be a free-to-play video game title so it was going to need some type of support but until now we didn’t really know how it was going to be handled. Much like other smartphone video game titles, Mario Kart Tour seems to be based around a time limit based restriction system. Essentially, players will be able to play a few matches before they are forced to wait until a certain amount of time otherwise they can pay to have the time limit reset.
Outside of the time limit, it does look like Nintendo is providing a number of classic tracks and characters from the past Mario Kart video game titles. Game mechanics are bare minimum with the game automatically forcing the kart to accelerate while players swipe the screen to allow the character to make certain turns throughout the track.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see how the developers ultimately decide on how to handle the microtransactions. Likewise, it could really play a role in how many gamers decide to join in on the game when it finally launches.
