The PlayStation 4 will be launching this November, and just recently, the Vita dropped its asking price down to $199. Knowing the connectivity that Sony is planning between the two devices, the timing of all this makes the concept of a bundle seem all the more plausible. The remote play that’s been touted at so many industry events is enticing, and if consumers had the option to buy both Sony devices in one fell swoop, you might see a chunk of the community drop the extra cash.
However, Sony’s Fergal Gara has put the rumors to bed at least for the time being. Speaking to OPM, Gara confirmed that there are “no firm plans at this stage to put the two together in one box.”

“As a minimum, there is clearly the opportunity for us to work with retailers to put them together alongside each other as at least a great companion trade up sale,” Gara continued.
Really, the Vita’s price drop happening so close to the PS4’s debut is nothing more than a coincidence. At least, that’s the story the company is currently sticking with.
“How can we sweat the technology and production costs to offer better value to the gamer? We’ve hit a moment when we can do that and bring [the Vita] down in cost [and] that happens to time very nicely with PS4, which further adds to the PlayStation Vita agenda.”
The consoles are really a perfect pair, but if you’re itching to purchase a PS4 this fall, don’t wait up for the pieces of hardware to join in a bundle.
