Some iconic video game characters never lose their relevance as generations of people grow old and new generations emerge. Impressively enough, most of video games notable characters come from Japanese developer, Nintendo. A character like Mario first became an iconic figure because of the time that he appeared. When video games first started entering homes, people latched onto Mario as their mascot for video games.
