Kart Racer Angry Birds Go! Announced by Rovio

August 28, 2013 by Stephen Daly

It’s sponsored by Red Bull, because why not?

Rovio has officially confirmed kart racing title Angry Birds Go! with a trailer detailing the game on YouTube.

The game was first teased with a still in June but has now been confirmed and, peculiarly enough, is being sponsored by Red Bull. The kart racing concept wasn't the first idea the developers tried; at one point they experimented with an endless runner title.

Rovio's Kalle Kaivola says, "The moment the kart fell apart in front of our eyes, we just knew it felt right. So simple, so beautiful. Of course there are still a few things to figure out before the game's ready, but look out for some big news soon."

Information including release platforms, launch date and price have not been announced but Rovio says that there'll be more details about Angry Birds Go! "soon".
