Nintendo Promises To Honor All MyNintendo Requests For Switch 2 For Their Most Loyal Customers

April 28, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

Nintendo has made a commitment for their biggest fans.

Nintendo has shared a vital message to their MyNintendo Store registrants who are trying to pre-order a Switch 2 this way.

Pre-ordering the console through Nintendo is something of a loyalty test, because Nintendo put up qualifications that many of their own fans won’t pass. We reported on these requirements already, but if you’re one of the few who passed the test, you may regard it as a badge of honor in a way.

Now, we have seen since Nintendo paused and restarted this pre-order program that the demand for Switch 2 is overwhelming. In the US and Japan, Nintendo is unable to meet up to that intense demand, and so they’ve been sharing their caveats and apologies to their fans.

However, Nintendo made some very important clarifications to those MyNintendo registrants who passed Nintendo’s fandom test.

On their support page about buying the Switch 2, they shared this message:

“Update about release-day delivery

Thank you to those of you who have already registered your interest in purchasing from My Nintendo Store. We’re thrilled by the enthusiasm for Nintendo Switch 2! Due to the very high demand, we will be working diligently to fulfill orders as product becomes available, but delivery by June 5 is not guaranteed. Your invitation email may arrive after the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. We’ll confirm your shipping date upon purchase.

If you wish to increase your opportunity of obtaining a Nintendo Switch 2 system at launch, please visit our participating retail partners above.

If you wish to continue waiting for your invitation from My Nintendo Store, no further action is required after registering your interest.”

They also added this language in another part of this webpage:

“Due to a high volume of registrations and fluctuations in supply, Nintendo cannot guarantee a timeline for when invitations will be sent. My Nintendo Store will continue this invitation system past the system’s launch date, until purchases are opened for everyone.”

And so you may be wondering, will this even matter if so many retailers are taking orders in? But if you’re someone who qualified for this program, you may find yourself relying on it, even if you managed to get pre-orders in somewhere else.

Why? Because those other retailers may also not be able to fulfill your pre-order for any number of reasons. This may not even be a case of you doing anything right or wrong, as it may come down to being able to secure supplies.

At the very least, the commitment from the company making the console holds more weight than their retail partners. So if you’re one of the people who qualified and got into this program, you’ll want to keep an eye out for Nintendo’s email starting May 8.
