You may have recalled that Bandai Namco was working on bringing out a brand new video game this year for the Dragon Ball Z franchise. We didn’t know just what was being done other than that the developers working on the project would bring out an action RPG. Just as promised, this past weekend during the Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament, Bandai Namco stepped up to deliver a new video game reveal showcasing just what the next big title release would be about. If you were hoping for a new story much like how the Xenoverse series covered their titles then you may be a bit disappointed, instead, this will be recapping the story from the Dragon Ball Z sagas.
We’re not sure just how much of the story would be told or if there will be sections missing, but it looks like the Dragon Ball Project Z will be focused on retelling the stories from the old franchise prior to Dragon Ball Super. This again is an action RPG so we expect there to be a means of players traveling around with choices to the in-game gear or elements, but it seems that the stories will still be retained. Unfortunately, most of the footage shown was cutscenes of the in-game engine but we did get a brief glimpse of some slight animation actions. The footage at the end of this trailer only showcases Goku walking around some memorable settings.
Again, this information shared so far is just the bare minimum as more details will soon make its way out into the public. However, for now, you can take look at the new trailer revealing Dragon Ball Project Z above. Currently, the game is slated to launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms sometime this year.
