Payday 2 has taken first place in the UK all-formats chart for the week ending August 17th; knocking Minecraft from top place where it had been for the last three weeks.
It marks developer 505 Game's first chart topping success since Sniper Elite V2 in May 2012. Grand Theft Auto 4 has re-entered the chart in 10th place before Rockstar release Grand Theft Auto 5 on September 17th for PS3 and Xbox 360.
The complete top ten for the week is:
(1) Payday 2, (2) Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, (3) Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, (4) FIFA 13, (5) Animal Crossing: New Leaf, (6) The Last of Us, (7) The Smurfs 2, (8) LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, (9) Tomb Raider, (10) Grand Theft Auto 4.
This week should see some big changes at the top of the chart with Saints Row 4, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and Splinter Cell: Blacklist all being released on Friday, August 23rd in the UK.
