Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Map Scale

August 14, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

The land size in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag appears smaller than previous entries.

Even with a larger emphasis on the naval aspects of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, the game will still include a large area players can run, jump and climb across.

In a cropped image, a Reddit user compared the location and map size to show the size of the world. If you look at the blue and red lines running from the roof top to the facings of both buildings, you can gauge the size of the world in respect to scale of the map.

Compared to recent entries, the land in Assassin's Creed 4 appears smaller when looking at the image above. With the emphasis on the naval combat and travel, you however can expect a much larger area in the open waters. Last week director of Assassin's Creed 4, Ashraf Ismail, explained that it would take up to 30 minutes to sail across the open world of Assassin's Creed 4.
