No matter what people say, the NBA isn’t all about offense. Sometimes, a game can be won through calculated, aggressive defense, and that will be represented in the upcoming NBA 2K14. Instead of standing by and watching as cover athlete LeBron James continually dunks over even your tallest players, the latest from 2K Games will include a new blocking system that, if you take a look at the official image above, should allow players to stop dunks before they even get close to the rim.
Players will be able to protect the rim in NBA 2K14 like never before. Although there aren’t too many details out right now concerning how this will be done, the new screenshot shows LeBron James denying new Golden State Warrior Andre Iguodala as he attempts to drive into the paint. This will likely be a technique that requires precise timing and a player who knows a thing or two about defense.
It was community leader ronnie2K who posted the picture, which is likely related to the Community Team-Up that will be returning this year. These events seem to be making a comeback due to the increased buildup surrounding the current and next-gen project, which has the developers very interested in hearing what the fans have to think. Hopefully they can get all the input and new feature ideas into the final product before it launches this fall.
