Sony will host quarterly events aimed at indie developers at it's European headquarters in London and while the meetings are aimed at indies in the region anyone can attend.
Speaking to Develop Agostino Simonetta told Develop "You know we do these things very regularly with all our partners, but with the indie community, it is so vast and they are spread out, that it is hard for me to go and work with developer days in the Middle East.
"We are really accelerating and changing the way we approach this. So before was more of a narrow cast, now there is a real opportunity for us to go what I call broadcast – a lot more visibility to be able to answer the questions."
Indies will be given information on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita as well as Sony's worldwide installation base. Sony has removed blocks to self-publishing with developers being able to release their games with guidance from the platform holder being completely optional.
Last night Microsoft confirmed its new indie policy for Xbox One and revealed that every retail unit acts as a debug console allowing for game development and self publishing.
Simonetta says record numbers of indie developers are signing up for PlayStation develoment.
"I can tell you I have been there for four years, and one of my colleagues has been in third-party relations for ten years, and we've never seen anything like this. And this is not just PS4, it applies to Vita and PS3 as well."
As of June the number of developers working on PS4 stands at over 500 and many of them are indies.
