Crackdown 3 Is Still Making Good Progress According To Phil Spencer

September 28, 2018 by Dennis Patrick

Crackdown 3 still development but looking good.

After waiting since 2010, we’re finally receiving a new installment to the Crackdown franchise. Crackdown 3 was first announced in 2014 where the game had been in development limbo until now where developers Ruffian Games have stated the third installment will, in fact, launch within 2019.

This is an action-packed third-person shooter with a highly destructible world for players to battle within. As for the narrative, Crackdown 3 picks up ten years after the events of Crackdown 2 where a new terrorist organization has successfully taken down the power across the entire world.

Much like the past two installments, Crackdown 3 will put players into the role of an agent who must track down and stop the terrorist organization. However, there is a competitive multiplayer mode if you wish to enjoy more of a non-stop action gameplay.

Over the course of its development, Crackdown 3 has had some issues that seemed to consistently push it back in development. It’s been a bit silent however when it comes to news regarding the video game but luckily we got a quick little update thanks to Xbox head, Phil Spencer. A fan recently tweeted out to Phil expressing his desire to enjoy the game which Phil responded that he had just played a full build of the game.

I was playing a full build yesterday. Nice work by the team, more work to do but good progress, my agent felt like the wrecking machine I enjoy 🙂

— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) September 27, 2018

While we didn’t get too many details regarding the build, Phil noted that the development process is progressing nicely and that his time with Crackdown 3 was pleasant. To be more specific, Phil Spencer thought his agent felt like a wrecking machine.

Currently, Crackdown 3 will be releasing on the PC and Xbox One platforms on February 26, 2019.
