You missed him. Just admit it. You’ve been able to get through most nights without shedding a tear or throwing back a few hard shots of whiskey, but the death of Saints Row’s Johnny Gat has had an impact on all of our lives. The brash, slicker-than-oil member of the Saints left us far too early, but apparently, not even death can keep the man down. Deep Silver and Volition have announced that Gat will be back in Saints Row 4, and instead of just supplying us with a simple picture of the man in all his glory, a full trailer has been cut together to remind you of why this is such a big deal.
How is he back? What role will he play in this presidential adventure? Where are his pants? There are plenty of questions that will likely be answered when we actually get our hands on the final game, but for now, Johnny Gat has to “stretch his legs and kill some things.” Thankfully, you get to see him do just that in this over-the-top trailer.
Not too much gameplay is shown here, but if you’re interested in seeing longer stretches of Saints Row 4 in action, the PAX East demo was recently released for the public. All the bizarre weaponry and irreverent humor is in full force, so you might want to avoid watching it in a public place. Fortunately for us, Volition isn’t afraid of the next-generation buzz that’s floating around or Grand Theft Auto 5. This upcoming blockbuster will release no matter what’s around it, and yes, people will line up to buy it.
