For the first time the Japanese company's history, Nintendo will attend the Game Developers Conferences (GDC) in Europe.
Alongside Nintendo, Google will also send Google Play developers to attend the game development event.
The event flows conveniently into gamescom in Cologne, Germany which runs from August 21st to August 25th. GDC Europe will begin three days prior and run from the 19th to the 21st.
Nintendo will hold two vendor sessions at GDC Europe leading into gamescom. Historically companys announced games both at GDC and gamescom, so it remains a mystery as to what exactly Nintendo will discuss. Microsoft and Sony already announced their presence at the gamescom event where they will talk about more games coming for the Xbox One and PS4.
In a shareholders meeting, Iwata explained Nintendo's plan to release some new IPs currently in development. In order to appease early Wii U adopters, Nintendo will release games like Donkey Kong Country Return: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D World until those "new games" reach completion.
GDC Europe will run from August 19th to the 21st in Cologne, Germany.
