It’s not often that we get a chance to influence the development of one of the biggest games on the marketplace. The emergence of Kickstarter has allowed fans of smaller games and genres to both support and suggest big ideas for in-development titles, but really, none of us have a say in what the next Call of Duty or Battlefield game will look like. LeBron James, the current best the NBA has to offer and cover athlete for 2K Games' NBA 2K14, wants to change that. Although we won’t be able to help fix Dwight Horward’s free throws, the fans of NBA games will have the opportunity to shape a portion of the game’s soundtrack through the use of social media.
On LeBron’s Instagram account, the sports icon sent out a request for new, exciting music to add to NBA 2K14. Anyone interested in making sure the classics are featured in the game or just want some young artists who deserve a shot can get the job done through Twitter, Facebook, or any other form of social media that people use. YouTube user IpodKingCarter has a few ideas of his own, as well as a popular comment section where you can make your voice heard.
The best way to “let your voice be heard” is to send all your best requests directly to LeBron. If have something that you think should make it to the final product, head on over to Instagram or Twitter and address your thoughts to @KingJames. If you’re lucky, the soundtrack might include some of your favorite artists.
