Square Enix has just released a new trailer of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 ahead of E3 this week. The trailer depicts actual gameplay, with turn-based combat in a battle between Lightning and what appears to be a gigantic boss monster.
In addition to some turn-based combat sequences, the trailer also depicts traversal as Lightning makes her way around an underground complex. It's quite unlike anything we've seen in the series before and seems more akin to what we'd expect out of an Assassin's Creed title than something from the Final Fantasy series.
Lightning Returns is set for a 2014 release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
