#17 Mom Wins $180,000 Custom Built GTA Supercar, Sells It to Drive Cheaper SUV
A 56-year-old mom from North Carolina unwittingly entered a prize draw for a custom-built supercar modeled after one of the vehicles in Grand Theft Auto 5, modeled after an in-game vehicle called the Bravado Banshee. It was valued at $180,000.
According to her, she had been entered into the draw after her teenage son bought the game using her credit card and entered her mailing address in the form. She was surprised when the vehicle, which was built by Pimp My Ride’s West Coast Customs, was dropped off at her home.
Of course, she didn’t just sell it off immediately. She drove it around for three years until she finally decided to sell it for less than half the price, stating that it was easier to just use her much cheaper SUV to carry groceries, much to the dismay of her son. But ultimately, the money she got from selling the car went to pay for his college tuition, so he can’t really complain.
