Capcom has yet to give up on its most popular franchise: Resident Evil. According to a discovery on Boxden (via VG247), the Japanese publisher may be gearing up for a Resident Evil 7 announcement at the upcoming E3, which takes place next month.
The discovery points towards a leaked image, seen below:
The post suggests that the image was intended to remain a secret until the game's announcement, so how they managed to get a hold of the poster is questionable. The validity of the poster should be taken with a grain of salt, as anyone could've put it together in Photoshop.
That being said, there's a good chance that it's real as the developers at Capcom have constantly and consistently delivered a new Resident Evil title almost every year. Assuming it's real, it's unknown what the story will be, which characters will be cast, or whether it'll even be a continuation of the series at all. Given the poor popularity of the previous title, there's a good chance that the series could be getting an entire reboot.
We'll keep you up to date with any details regarding Resident Evil 7, assuming it's for real.
