The Dark Souls 2 box art is out, but there's one problem: it's heavily compressed, and being heavily compressed makes it less impressive than it actually looks. To that end, a fan of the game has taken the trouble to clean up the artwork and provide other fans with a full, high resolution image of the box art.

Efforts like this are par for the course for Dark Souls 2 fans, who've also made a HUD mod for Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on the PC which changes up the game's interface to look more like Dark Souls 2. What's impressive about that particular mod is how it's based entirely only on what we've seen in trailers of the game and nothing more. To work from so little and to come up with so much—it's just what modders are capable of.
If you're keen on following up on the development and design of Dark Souls 2, the game's director Yui Tanimura had a lot of details to impart about the game at the recent Global Gamers Day event, where he talked about its unorthodox multiplayer and level design—core elements which make it quite unlike any other game currently in existence.
Dark Souls 2 is scheduled for release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year.
