Capcom’s co-op adventure has been performing specifically well in Japan. According to Japanese publication Famitsu, the title has sold 1,350,412 copies at physical retail within its first three days in Japan. This news comes days after Capcom announced that 5 million Monster Hunter World units have been shipped so far.
What’s most interesting, is that Famitsu predicts that over 2 million units have actually been sold if digital downloads are included. The figure is still considerably high for a PS4 game’s first week sales. As a result console sales were at 140,432 units for the week of January 22nd to 28th.
This means that that week has been second highest sales week for the PS4 (including the PS4 Pro) since the console’s launch week in 2014.
