The 2011 free Flash dogfighting game Lufthauser has a sequel, and it's officially going to be dropping in on PlayStation consoles and PC this spring.
“The PlayStation team is full of Vlambeer fans so we’re absolutely delighted to see Luftrausers launch on PlayStation platforms,” said Shahid Ahmad, Senior Business Development Manager, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. “Vlambeer’s unmistakable style and wonderful attention to detail will most certainly shine on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.”
According to a press release, Lufthausers is a massive undertaking of the original game, where players "control the most incredibly agile aircraft ever piloted in insane dogfights over the open sea."
The game was developed by the talented and quirky folks over at Vlambeer, who are the creators behind recent iOS hit Ridiculous Fishing, and Devolver Digital, the company behind critically-acclaimed indie Hotline Miami.
Screenshots from the game, and a trailer which you can watch below, showcase an arcade-style dogfighter with unique graphics. In addition to the fun players experienced in the first one, Lufthausers also features 125 different combinations of plane guns, bodies, and engines in over 100 missions.
Is it a long drop? Players can test the game, which will be available for demonstration at PAX East this weekend, and at GDC in San Francisco.
Luftrausers will be available this spring on PSN as well as PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam for $9.99.
