David Hayter has always been highly communicative with the fans of the Metal Gear Solid series of games. In his latest interaction with gamers on Twitter, the voice of Solid Snake held an impromptu poll to ask fans whether they'd be okay if he didn't voice Snake in the next Metal Gear.
He asked: "How would you react if I didn't play Snake in the next Metal Gear?"

According to the 303 people who answered his survey, 64% of them replied "Sad/Angry", 12% said "No Big Deal" and 24% stated adamantly that they would not buy the game if he did not return to voice the role of Snake.
It's hard to say whether he's actively gauging responses from the fans to see whether they'd be okay with someone else replacing him, or whether he means to invite hype for the next Metal Gear Solid title, Ground Zeroes.
There is a slight chance that either Konami, Kojima, or both, have made some decision not to involve Hayter in the development of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes—a development that would no doubt have prompted the survey. Although it is more likely that Hayter and Kojima are trying to build up some fan interest in the upcoming game. Ultimately, it's all up to speculation and we'll hope to know more in the coming weeks.
