PUBG Full Desert Map Revealed; Dubbed Miramar

December 7, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

It won’t be ready for Xbox One launch, unfortunately.

A couple month back Bluehole Studios announced that there would be a new map coming to its flagship title, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, but besides the handful of in-game screenshots and announcement of a new vehicle, exclusive to the map, we haven’t really had many other details besides that it’s vast, it’s dilapidated and (obviously) it’s in a desert.

Now the Development and Community Team has revealed the name of the upcoming desert map, Miramar, stating that they wanted to create a completely different feel to the first map Erangel, with use of different terrain and vantage points so that players will have to utilize different tactics when approaching the map. The team also revealed the full map of Miramar, which contains eight cities varying in size and layout. More details about the cities can be found here.

‘We are excited beyond words that we can finally share the name of our new desert map and tell you a little bit about some of the places you can visit. When we decided to create a new map, we focused on creating an environment that is very different from Erangel. We wanted to go the opposite direction of having lush fields and forests and arrived at the harsh and unforgiving desert of what we can now reveal is Miramar. The unique terrain and dense urban areas of Miramar will create a new Battle Royale experience where the old strategies may no longer work and new tactics are required. ‘

Check out the map of Miramar below:

In terms of a release date, Bluehole says that it will be playable during the final test round before the full PC release. This means that it, unfortunately, won’t be ready for the Xbox One launch on December 12.
PUBG is out now for PC, and will release for Xbox One December 12th.
