Cuphead, the 1920’s themed platformer has proven that difficulty just makes games more pumped up to play it. The title developed by StudioMDHR has passed the one million figure on Steam alone, according to SteamSpy. Well in total we don’t really know what the number is (the game has been sold on multiple other PC marketplaces such as Windows Store and GOG.com) it’s still a pretty significant statistic, given that the title is an indie game and has been hailed as one of the most difficult games this year has seen.
That being said, the title has also been selling on Microsoft’s console platform, the Xbox One, so it wouldn’t be too far off to assume that the total amount of sales is probably around 2 million given that Microsoft is the distributor of the title.

‘Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!’
Cuphead is out now for PC and Xbox One.
