Bethesda’s hit run and gun first person shooter, DOOM is out now on Nintendo’s hybrid console, the Switch.
“We’re excited to welcome Nintendo fans back to the world of DOOM,” said Marty Stratton, executive producer at id Software. “This game is all about powerful guns, crazy demons, and fast, relentless gameplay, which we think Switch players will really enjoy.”
The title is priced at $59.99, if you are looking at picking up DOOM for the multiplayer experience, you’ll have to download it separately to the cartridge.
A fellow writer recently did a first impression for the title’s port. His conclusion? Wait for a price drop.
‘Earlier this year, Bethesda revealed that a handful of third-party titles would be heading over to the hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch. The lineup of games include titles such as Doom, Skyrim, and the recently released Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. At first, I was doubtful about some of these titles being ported onto the Nintendo Switch.
Would the compromises play too much of a factor? Will the game be able to run at steady frame rates, while still retaining up to date graphics? Now that Doom has officially released, I can confirm that the Switch port of this game is quite impressive.’
