Logitech, one of the biggest accessory makers in the world when it comes to PC, is ceasing production of all console peripherals following disappointing results for its last quarter.
According to CEO Bracken P. Darrell, they have "identified a number of product categories that no longer fit" with their current strategic direction. He also adds, "As a result, we have initiated the process to divest our remote controls and digital video security categories, and we plan to discontinue other non-strategic products, such as speaker docks and console gaming peripherals, by the end of Calendar Year 2013."
Logitech, which saw a drop in sales of 14% year-on-year to $615 million for Q3 fiscal year (FY) 2013, will instead focus on PC and mobile products.
Some of Logitech's notable console accessories are the F710 Wireless Gamepad and the Wireless Headset F540.
Chalk Logitech up as another company that's opting out of the highly-competitive and unstable videogame console business.
Have you bought any of Logitech's console peripherals? How are they compared to the official ones?
