Halo 4: No Theater Mode for Campaign and Spartan Ops Anytime Soon

January 24, 2013 by Alex Co

343 has let the word out: don’t expect theater mode for Halo 4’s campaign and Spartan Ops soon. Plus! 343 on camping…

Just a few moments ago, we reported on a few good things that are making its way onto Halo 4 next week. Sadly, this post is the bearer of bad news.

Over on her official Twitter, 343 Industries Community Manager Jessica Shea reveals that they don't have any current plans to bring Theater mode to both the Campaign and Spartan Ops.

We don't currently have plans to bring Theater into Halo 4's Campaign and Spartan Ops. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

So for those who want to show-off some of their tips, strategies or tricks in either the Campaing or in Spartan Ops, you'll need to use a third-party video recorder of some sort to capture the footage. Yep, it sucks, but that's the case for now.

To lighten the mood a bit, over on the official Halo Waypoint site, Shea admits that she's a camper and even lists some of the things that Halo 4 campers do. In other words, check to see if your tactics fall in the list below and if so, well, sucks to be your victim.

You may be a camper if…

The Incineration Cannon is your favorite weapon because of its above average marshmallow roasting capabilities.

Your preferred Ordnance Drop consists of a tent, sleeping bag and portable stove.

You think DMR stands for “Doesn’t Matter, Really”. Because with way you play the game, it doesn’t, really.

The crouch button is always the first button to get worn out on your controller.

You have more Base and Flag Defense medals than all your friends combined.

You wish “stationary” was a selectable status on Facebook.

You think Active Camo should be buffed.

You’re offended when people call it a legit strategy because it’s more than that. It’s an entire way of life.

When anybody asks how your last game went, you say, “It was 'in tents'” and then laugh hysterically.

You read this entire list while you were mid-game, and your position still hasn’t been discovered.

Are the addition of two new Specializations and the Griffball playlist enough to off-set the "no Theater mode" in Spartan Ops and Campaign news? Also, how do you feel about campers in Halo 4? I dare say it's not as bad as it is in other shooters, right?
