PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds launch this year has been phenomenal almost instantly skyrocketing into success. Recently the game topped steam’s charts making it the most played game ever on Valve’s platform.
With all the hype surrounding the game as well as the loads and loads of subsequent cash being made off the title, the team behind the title have decided to brand themselves as ‘PUBG Corp’.
PUBG Corp will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Bluehole (the publisher of the game), and will be “focused entirely on the development and global business opportunities”.
PUBG is available now on PC, with an Xbox One version due for launch later this year.
In other PUBG news, we may see PUBG Corp implement Xbox One and PC cross-play at some stage.
Considering the trend of cross-play utility with games like Rocket Leauge and Minecraft, it would make sense that one of the biggest games of 2017 follows with the same idea. In a recent interview with Shacknews, PUBG’s creator, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” stated that cross-play between PC and Xbox One would be something that the team would like to see implemented at some stage.
