For those wondering why Sony Santa Monica is spending all their time promoting God of War: Ascension's multiplayer, you'll be glad to know that a single-player demo of Kratos' latest adventure will be available next month.
While we don't know the exact date, we know now that it won't be the same single-player demo the studio showed off at last year's E3. This demo was also the same one packaged in the Total Recall Blu-ray which was also available last year.
This news was confirmed by Sony Santa Monica's Twitter where a fan asked if the demo they're releasing next month is the same as the one we saw at E3 to which Sony Santa Monica replied, "Something very very different."
On more God of War: Ascension single-player news, Sony Santa Monica just updated the Rise of the Warrior site and in it, they detailed how participating players will be able to earn the chance to play the single-player demo early.
For those interested, the challenge is that the first team to reach 2.5 million points will get early access to the demo. Yeah, that's a lot but that's the price you have to pay if you want to experience Kratos' next adventure before the rest of the masses. You can sign up for it over on the site. Keep in mind that Ascension's multiplayer beta is only available for PS+ members…at least for now anyway.
So, anyone up to the challenge? What would you want to see in the single-player demo? For reference, the E3 build cuts out as soon as Kratos enters the Kraken's mouth. Hopefully, what Sony Santa Monica has in mind can top even that.
God of War: Ascension is set for a March 19 release for the PS3.
