Well here's a one that'll tug at your ole heart strings. Recently the father of a nine year old boy posted to Reddit asking how to get in touch with the Bungie Foundation, hoping to grant the wish of their son who was going into surgery for a liver transplant at Seattle Children's Hospital. A huge Halo fan, the young lad wanted a replica assault for Christmas but unfortunately his family was unable to afford one. Hoping that the Bungie Foundation might be willing to foot the costs to help ease the his post surgery trauma, they put the word out on the Halo subreddit in hopes they could get in touch with the right people and bring a smile to his face after the transplant.
As it turns out, not only did Bungie Foundation and the boy's father connect, but they also gave him the post-op visit of a lifetime. He was treated to a perfect replica of Carter's helmet from Halo Reach, a couple of Halo Reach shirts, and a card signed by members of the Bungie team. Below are a few photos of this very special and heart warming moment. Some of them are very touching (others…ready your handkerchief), but either way, you can check them all out over at the Imgur link.
