Sony Santa Monica has released yet another video in their "Unchained" developer diaries for God of War: Ascension's multiplayer. This new video, which they call the "Art of War," shows us how the team designed the combat moves in the mode.
One good highlight here is how Senior Animator James Che talks about the differences between designing moves for Kratos and for multiplayer. For Kratos, they give him the most powerful moves they can, without really implementing a drawback to using them. In multiplayer, doing that would render a character, weapon or move overpowered, so for each devastating attack, there should be an opening or warning that other players can capitalize on.
Just in case you still didn't know, PlayStation Plus members can now partake in the game's multiplayer beta. So if you want to test the mayhem out for yourself, download the client and give it a go.
For those already playing it, is multiplayer a solid addition to the franchise or is it a minor distraction from the overall spectacle that is God of War's single-player component?
Thanks, AGB
