The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced the nominations for the this year's 16th annual D.I.C.E. awards. And it should come to little surprise that Journey got the bulk of the nominations.
63 games are accounted for, hailing from virtually all corners of the spectrum; from consoles to smart phones, even the web. As noted, leading the nominations is Journey, which received 11, including Game of the Year. Other nominees in this category include Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, The Walking Dead, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
Alongside Journey, you have Telltale’s The Walking Dead, which received 8 nominations, Far Cry 3, which relieved 7 nominations, Halo , which received 6 nominations, plus Borderlands and Dishonored, which both nabbed 5.
The D.I.C.E. awards ceremony takes place Feb. 7 at the 2013 Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain summit. Chris Hardwick, best known as the founder of the Nerdist.com and AMC's Talking Dead, will be the host. For those who cannot attend, the event will be livestreamed via Machinima at 7:30 PM ET.
