You might not consider cooperative games to be capable of scaring the pee out your bladder, but EA Games and Visceral are more than willing to hedge their bets on terrifying you and a friend in their upcoming game, Dead Space 3.
Set after the events of the second Dead Space, players will once again take on the role of the imminently doomed Isaac Clarke. The space engineer now finds himself on a journey towards a bleak, and icy alien world to uncover the source of the Marker that spelled the doom for just about everyone in the previous games, and this time around, he's got the company of an associate who's in about just as much trouble as he is.
Together, the two set off on a course to uncover the mysteries of the Marker, and get in all sorts of trouble along the way.
Today, Visceral released five new screenshots of Dead Space 3, featuring the likes of Isaac as he goes up against never-before-seen varieties of the Necromorph who've plagued the previous game and proved to be more than a nasty hindrance to his survival. There's no appearance of Isaac's partner, but we're sure that he's not too far behind.
Dead Space 3 is set for release early next year on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
