March of the Eagles, a wargame from Paradox Interactive that is due to release for PC early next year, has a new trailer showing a little of what the game will look like. Besides a few choice quotes, we're shown a detailed map of Europe as it was in the early 1800s, with various menus suggesting a complexity that should satisfy those who enjoy these kinds of games.
According to the game's website, March of the Eagles is “dedicated to the era 1805-1820 focused on the dramatic conflicts of Europe”. That means the Napoleonic Wars, a particularly conflict-filled period in European history. Players will have to defend their nation while also expanding it through either negotiation or war, with the chance to take control of the continent. There's plenty of strategy involved, with the need to “manage logistics, raid your enemy's supply lines and manage your leaders, produce units and set the strategy for your army and fleet management”.
The game also has a particular focus on multiplayer, and you can play with groups of up to 32. And, naturally, the game is highly customisable, so you can create your very own wargame (and presumably play that with others too).
