With Telltale Games' excellent The Walking Dead game occupying peoples' minds when it comes to the franchise's game adaptation, people might forget that Activision has tasked Terminal Reality to develop a The Walking Dead game based on first-person shooter elements.
However, aside from the main gameplay being different, Terminal Reality's game will also benefit from Activision's thick wallet as the publisher has signed Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker (Daryl Dixon and Merle Dixon) to reprise their roles in the TV show for the game.
Seeing as the game is set to be a shooter, and Daryl's a badass in The Walking Dead universe, I'd say it's a good fit, no? For those getting confused by the game adaptations of the The Walking Dead franchise, Telltale Games' version is based more on the actual graphic novels than the TV show, while Activision's game will capitalize on the TV series' massive popularity.
Hopefully, Survival Instinct can match the greatness that Telltale has achieved so far, no?
Do you also want Rick and the other actors and actresses that portray them to appear in the game, too? Or will it just break the overall feel of the game and make you want to watch the TV show instead?
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is set to come out on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime in 2013.
