Z-14 is a short comic displayed online to bolster players' experiences with Zombi U. The publishers have added a new page once every day for the past two weeks and the last went up as the game launched in Europe on November 30th, so if you haven't already seen it then now is a good time to go check it out. The comic tells the story of the first fourteen days after the outbreak, each page showing a different experience in ravaged London supported by extracts from “The Black Prophecy” by John Dee – the mathematician, astrologer, and consultant to Queen Elizabeth I whose work inspired the story of the game.
The comic is written by Antony Johnston – an award-winning writer known for comic series Wasteland – and Gabrielle Shrager, the story design director at Ubisoft who worked on the game. The incredible illustration was done by Kev Crossley, who has also worked on art for Warhammer 40K. The comic is slightly animated, with speech bubbles appearing and things shifting slightly as you scroll through, though it might not work so well on laptops with small screens. It's well worth checking out, especially if you've got any interest in the story of Zombi U.
